Personal profile

Feng Meichen, male, born in 1978, is currently the vice president of the College of Agriculture of Shanxi Agricultural University, doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor. He is also the deputy chief expert of coarse cereal industry of Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology System in Shanxi Province, the member of the Agricultural Information Branch of China Association of Agriculture Science Societies, the council member and deputy secretary general of Shanxi Crop Society, the standing director of Shanxi Dry Farming Association, the council member of Shanxi Coarse Cereals Association, the member of Quinoa Professional Committee, the deputy director of Scientific Observing and Experimental Station of Crop Cultivation and Cultivated Land Conservation in Loess Plateau of North China of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the director of Key Laboratory of Crop Cultivation and Farming System.

Overview of Teaching and Research

In teaching, he focuses on undergraduate courses such as Generality of Precision Agriculture, Multimedia Courseware Making, General Introduction of Agronomy, Application of Computer in Agriculture and Agricultural Expert System et al; master and PhD courses such as Remote Sensing Technology and its Application, Agricultural information acquisition and processing et al. He participated in the editing of two books, Agricultural Information Technology (Textbook for the 11th Five-Year Plan of national agricultural and forestry colleges and universities) and Generality of Precision Agriculture (Textbook for the 12th Five-Year Plan of general higher education of Ministry of Agriculture).

He has been engaged in the research of crop ecology and information technology for a long time, presided over 7 projects such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key R&D Project of Shanxi Province, Key Project of Shanxi Province, Young Scientist Fund of Shanxi Province et al., participated in more than 20 projects such as  National Natural Science Foundation of China, Fund of China Scholarship Council, Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education of China(Doctoral Supervisor), Science and Technology Research Project of Shanxi Province et al. He has published more than 100 papers in international and national academic journals, 22 of which have been indexed by SCI and 6 by EI. He has obtained 7 national patents, formulated 6 local standards in Shanxi Province, published a monograph, participated in the compilation of two textbooks and won a third prize of Natural Science Award in Shanxi Province.
